Fifty (or so) names from history

This list was produced to get some perspective on the position of Gladstone, in relation to the industrial revolution. When I started, it was only going to be ten names, but it just kept growing! I've had to limit the list as it is. Click on the names to find out who these people were, or are, care of Wikipedia.

If you're even remotely interested in the history of technology, prepare to see your day disappear. Three of mine have already gone west!
